I’ve already said everything I had to say about Durmitor (Ice cave, Durmitor, Hotel Bobotov kuk and My mom in the mountains). Words can’t do it justice anymore. The only thing left is to pack your backpack and go — with Lara Croft’s voice in your head: “Right, let’s go adventuring!”
This time, the adventure didn’t end. It just flowed. No pushing limits, no conquering peaks (though we still did). We walked until the dogs decided it was time to pause — and take a nap in the narrow shade, pressed against the rocks.
Small logistical fail: I forgot my carefully packed sandwiches in the fridge. So for the entire climb, I had only three cereal bars and an apple — very fuel-efficient. But after the descent, our first stop was Konoba Luna. I cleaned a full bowl of vegetable soup, while the dogs got their emergency pancakes. We all survived.
Funny thing about busy trails — you keep passing and re-passing the same people, like riding a long-distance bus. At one point, a group pointed at me from a distance:
There’s the man with the two dogs!
The echo carried it through the valley and it sounded like the title of a good movie.
